We believe

...that a powerful, loving, just, and beautiful God exists and that everything is His. He is the unchallenged king and authority in the universe. But He isn’t some distant deity; He is personal, and He has revealed himself to us. But there is a problem. We, the pinnacle of His creation, have chosen to walk away from a relationship with our creator. We have sinned. No matter how moral, every one of us has things we would be ashamed for people to see. We have failures, regrets, insecurities; we are corrupted to the core. And because of our sin, all of God’s creation fell. Although there is still beauty and goodness in the world, nothing is the way it ought to be. That is why suffering, pain, and evil exists. We brought it here because we rejected His authority for our own. And we can’t fix it; we can’t fix creation and we can’t fix ourselves.

But God refused to leave us in that place, so God became human. His name is Jesus, and He is the only hope that we have. He lived the perfect and morally upright life that we should have lived. And instead of receiving the credit for it, He allowed himself to be killed by the Romans 2,000 years ago. Even though he did nothing wrong, He willingly died like a criminal. He died to make payment for the wrong that we have done so that we don’t have to pay it ourselves. The king of the universe died so that we don’t have to. But He didn’t stay in the grave. Jesus physically, bodily, rose from the dead proving that he is God and that death is not stronger than He is. Now those who trust in Him don’t have to spiritually die, but can have life forever with Jesus.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says: “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” There is no such thing as a person too far gone to know Jesus; and no such thing as a person who doesn’t need him. It is completely by God’s grace that we can have a relationship with Him, and His grace comes to us through simple faith in Jesus.
